The Aswang Phenomenon - A documentary

In my opinion, this is by far the most incisive and cerebral approach to the question of the Aswang's origin. Unlike other Aswang documentaries or movies before that propagate the myth by obscuring it, this feature offers a 21st century view that represents the most rational approach sans judgements and bias characteristic of some filmmakers nowadays. Far from coming up with an anthology of spook tales, Film Maker Jordan Clark placed the concept of the aswang inside a multi-faceted prism to be viewed from all possible angles - from the downright ridiculous to the utterly scientific. I'm glad to have contributed a small part in the making of this one-of-a-kind film.

So where do I stand in all these? In the middle of course :)

i would like to comment about the sigbin it is actually kind of animal in brazil they called "chupacabra". my lola in capiz pet it. she told me it will bring good fortune. the rest is true. :) ...some aswang actually go to colleges. :) about the origins of it...hmmm.. how do i put it.. they are actually ancient aliens. search youtube and google. yeah, i laugh about it but if you search it, it gives me chills. actually if an aswang has a family and relatives they are actually very friendly and very protective. they are just like normal people, they laugh and cry. some of them go to party. today most of them feed on animals and chickens... witches and aswang... seen them both, talk to them both, lived with them both... my bloodline.

This is a really good documentary! The graphics is cool as well as the story plot. I've seen other documentary about this creature but this is way more cooler than the others. There are other types of aswang creatures too and I hope you can post more regarding this topic.

I don't know whether you can still answer this or not but I actually choose this documentary as a means of understanding a different culture from mine. Well, my question is, the so called aswang supposed to be pre-date spanish colonization, right? But then, all of the stories of the origin of the aswang are kind of a rip-off, sorry for the word... It doesn't really say much other than shouting "I am a copy of the story of prometheus, the fire bringer." Even that with the battle of the heavens. It's kind of funny. it doesn't really fit into the picture of the story of the aswang. Are there any localized version, perhaps. I've been searching the net and can't find one.

there are some part of the story is wrong..

aswang?
more like a person who dwells on evil magic and at night when they sleep there souls dwells everywhere..
the thing you called big dog or pig or black dog? they are just mere animals posses by the spirit itself.. and the floating and flying it is just the spirit.. try watching the movie "INSIDIOUS" that is the precise form of what im telling you about these creature.. the Aswang.. they do not eat babies its simply that they love the fragrance of them that they dwell on the pregnant mother and played with it as a result the baby will die or NAKUNAN..
